Programmable Logic Controllers are devices which can be used for home/office/factory automation.
Whilst these boards are not "PLC's" as such, they can be used for the same sort of purposes. They feature a microcontroller which you can program, and various inputs / outputs.
PLC type boards are available for Microchip PIC and Atmel AVR.
PLC type boards generally feature:
Relay outputs.
Optocoupled inputs (except PICPLC4 - normal inputs available).
GSM/GPRS communication.
Ethernet communication.
RS232 / RS485 communication.
Real-time clock.
MikroElektronika-standard IDC10 connectors for easily connecting any of a large range of
add-on boards (for more information please click here or see the store).
